Registration is open for the Southern Christmas Tree Association / Auburn University Christmas Tree Grower Workshop April 5, 2025 at the Farm House Cafe and Neely Farms near Thorsby, Alabama. Download the registration form from the above link. Deadline for registration is March 28, 2025. Preregistration is required. There will be an attendance cap. The workshop will begin at the Farm House Cafe where the door will at open 9:30 AM with the program starting at 10:00 AM. Two hours of presentations will cover a broad spectrum of subjects from land preparation to harvesting. Lunch will be 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM after which everyone will depart for Neely Farms where the program will continue at 1:30 PM and conclude around 4:30 PM. A more specific agenda will be posted when available. Monitor this website and Facebook for updates. Locations: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM Farm House Cafe, 20466 US-31, Thorsby AL 35171; 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM Neely Farms, 275 Dakota Road, Thorsby AL 35171. The closest hotels are at Exit 205, I-65 near Clanton, Alabama. The Holiday Inn Express (205.280.1880) and Best Western Inn (205.280.1006) are two hotels among others in the vicinity. The executive secretary will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Wherever you make your reservations, it is advised to do so now since this period of time is popular when the rates increase. The Holiday Inn Express is 13 miles south southeast of the Farm House Cafe. Neely Farms is 1 mile west of the Farm House Cafe. Contact the executive secretary for addition information.
